Specializing in Passion
This project is not a traditional design studio project. The goal was to design an architectural school in 2073, using AI to help us in the design progress. With us using AI as a tool the class was expected to allocate their time elsewhere in the project.
My concept stems from the idea that the integration of AI in the architecture/design field will allow more time for students to explore their passions and specialize in school rather than after. A trend that I have noticed after entering the workforce.
As to where I was going to allocate my time, that was a struggle that helped shape my project and how I was going to explore my concept. I struggled with find something I was passionate about that could support my concept. This crisis became a pivotal moment where I decided to fully utilize AI as a tool in the design process and explore something not directly related to design.
I was exploring my concept in practice. My time, that was not spent on design, was spent on interviewing students and professionals in and outside the architecture/design field. For this project design was not meant for people as the group, but instead for people as the individual. Each “classroom” is a conceptual representation of the interviews that were conducted based on how the individual would spend their free time and what they are passionate about.
